I Regret Poem by swabi mnisi

I Regret

Seeking comfort in place of discomfort
Shebeens became mine
Tragedy in the open to shine
Pain, I thought I eased
Instead
My enemies I pleased

I forsaken just courses for pleasure
I mistaken friends for treasure
Guised in leisure
I shoved a time bomb down my throat

Words of wisdom harassed my ears
Yet, I failed to hear
Responsibility, I denied to bear
Today, my life is a mess
a burden too hard to bear

Today i regret
for opportunities missed
i regret the bad choices
a good life gone to waste
I regret
