I Plead Guilty Poem by Eric Mwenda

I Plead Guilty

I perch my thoughts
on that flimsy
twisting figure,
bourdered by identical twins
who swing and vibrate
to sighs of a tortured soul.
I yearn not to touch
but to own

yes,
i plead guilty,
of dreaming sweeter
than when am asleep,
Of cranning mine neck
and staring long after she gone

i peruse through photos
of images conjured,
captured,
on a bustling morning,
or a lazy afternoon,
of me
of the maiden,
things doerble best in pairs

yes, i plead guilty
of thirst,
for surely i should dive deep
and drink from maiden's cup

only i
and i say,
only i
should strike the twins
and set a rythm
for their dance,
if that is selfish and evil,
then my friend
i plead guilty.
