I Never Got To Say Goodbye Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

I Never Got To Say Goodbye

If I could turn back the time
And be with you some more,
Appreciate what was mine
Before they walked out life's door.

If I could say more things
That would ease all the pain
Have more love and laughing,
Angry words washed by rain.

You are all gone forever
Perhaps eternity is best,
You no longer need to suffer
And you have your due rest.

But here I am with this ache
And the emptiness I face,
Memories I can't forsake
The lost images that I trace,

Days will be until my time to go,
Tears will fall from my eye
But this I want you to know-
That I never got to say.....goodbye.
