I Must Stop Poem by Gerald Flippinhanger

I Must Stop

i must stop, and yet
I CANT
the words flow onto the paper
the party goes on all night
the ride never ends
i must stop, and yet
I CANT
i have been up all night
waiting to put down my pen
waiting for the party to come to a close
waiting for the ride to end
i must stop, and yet
I CANT
tomorrow will be another day
a day full of endless writing
a day full of endless partying
a day full of endless riding
i must stop, and yet
I CANT
and the cycle will never end
though i long to finish the story
though i long to end the dancing and drinking
though i long to dismount this crazy ride
i must stop, and yet
I CANT
but suddenly something changes
there are no more words for my book
there are no more drinks for my party guests
there are no more tracks for this ride
i must stop, and now
I CAN
