I Met My Soulmate, She Didn't Poem by Abir Sinha

I Met My Soulmate, She Didn't

More oft than not, we come across a person in our life, who sweeps us of our feet. Make us feel the reason why we came to this morbid world. Give definition to our construed chain of thoughts. Apprise us of the vitalities of life. Allure us with the quiddity of their enigma.

We start to believe in the chimerical paradise which is nothing but the house of cards they put up.
We start to believe in them, in their words. Start intertwining our chores to match theirs, without even pondering twice about what they feel for us. Such is the frailty of the human mind. One that always seeks love and affection.

We often misinterpret acquaintance as friendship, friendship as love, lovers as soulmates, soulmates as partners, partners as life partners. That's how our heart is engineered. We cling onto the vagaries of perception which our sly mind wants us to believe. We abnegate the reality and try to hold on dearly to the proximity.

Such is the frailty of the human mind.
