I Met Love Poem by Joel Duncan

I Met Love

Rating: 5.0

Love greeted me at the park exit.
She was no stranger.
She had graced me with her presence once before.
I felt my pulse leap.
This time she affected a whole different part of me I didn't know existed.
My heart beat grew stronger,
More ferocious,
Pushing against my ribcage hoping for a way to escape.
I closed my eyes as if that would hide me.
The angel of beauty was a luxury you have to witness for yourself.

Love didn't have to talk to harness my attention and tie it to her.
Every movement cast a spell on me that I couldn't shake away.
I already longed to know more about what lied beneath.
I wanted feel what she had felt,
I desired to know what she desired,
I imagined travelled through endless galaxies of emotions,
And seen what she had seen.

Love put her hand in mine and smiled,
A smile any man would travel the world to find again.
If you keep her,
She will fuel the supernova of passion inside your soul,
But if you let her go,
Sleep will not save you.
Memories will haunt you.
Your stable world will fall and collapse in front of you,
Love knows how to win the dangerous game we all play,
Love was a radiant beauty I will never forget.
