I didn’t ask for you to like me
I didn’t ask for you to care
I never asked for your heart
I never asked for your ever-lasting stare

I saw you as a friend
Talked about everything I could
Vented to you as my companion
Gave you the bad as well as the good

You know everything about me
Have been there in bad times
You noticed my struggles
And helped me with your chimes

I love you, but not in the same way
Care about you, but not the way you want.
I seek your guidance and listen to what you say.

But I cannot tell you how I feel.
I cannot explain without hurting you.

I want you in my life
Because you make it whole
It may be selfish,
But you are my console.
