I'M Sorry For Both Of Us Poem by Sarah H H

I'M Sorry For Both Of Us

Rating: 5.0

I'm sorry that I couldn't play
I didn't know it was a game
I was never going to come in first
The win belonged to another name.
I'm sorry that I opened up
With everything I had
The good, the bad, the old the young
It makes me all so sad.
I'm sorry that you didn't read
just what my fingers said
Instead you watched my mouth for answers
Or tried to search my head.
I'm sorry that you gave me answers
to questions I never asked
That your cynicism took away
A love in which we could have basked.
I'm sorry that so many others
have played such hurtful games
That leave you able to sabotage
other relationships or worse still fatefully maime.
I'm sorry that you are such a phenomenal person
That has lost all faith in himself
The damage that others have caused
Is as plentiful as abundant wealth.
I'm sorry that I can't fix you
but that just wont help at all
Instead of being your friend and lover
I will become your support wall.
I'm sorry that I feel your need
So much more than your want
I'm sorry I'm just not strong enough
To turn off the over flowing font.
But most of all I'm sorry
That it's just a 5 letter word
For 6 years of highs and lows
Those letters are not being heard.
If sorry was a size
it would be bigger than a house
If it was the weather
It would be a mistral breezing through your house.
If it was a colour
it would be the deepest truest blue
If it were one of the senses
it would by my eye contact with you.
But for all that it means
It is just a 5 letter word
And for the magintude contained within it
That somehow seems absurd.
So before I end the day
And lay my head to rest
Take my gift of that 5 letter word
And let it mean the best.

Having read all three of your submitted works I can plainly say that I am not 'sorry' for having done so. Great work.
