I'M Not Sure Poem by Curt Simmons

I'M Not Sure

There once was a boy who lived in a world full of wonderment and curiosity,
A world where nothing can harm you,
not even the sands of time could alter this diluted perception of perfection,
With this magical essence projected into thoughts of gods that lovedc and spirits,
Like whirls of protection that surrounded this thin existence called life,
you see that boy was once me,
and again you see that i am no longer a boy, .
Just a broken man with bones of emotion that have healed the wrong way,
No longer to use my limbs to reach out and grab a hold of a compound substance,
Just perpetually falling down this black whole, despair, self-loathing, and anger that manifests into my own personal hell,
Grieve with me for I am a lost soul searching for a meaning to something to anything tangible,
Realistic realism sours my brain which makes me apathetic to your pain,
And still I search for a connection,
From me to you or the other way around,
I'm not sure.....
