I'm not a poem or story
You don't believe in writing fiction
You smiled and pretended I was
Cliches were such an addiction

You wrote out songs and lyrics
Speaking of our first kiss
You wrote so many poems
Ignorance is not bliss

You didn't write of your feelings
Of how an aching grin covered dread
You didn't write of fear
For what she always said

You couldn't write your mind
You couldn't make it more than a phase
You could only make it beautiful
Shower me with cliches

I wonder how you were influenced
by just her saying it was wrong
Maybe it's because
There were no 'I love you's in your songs
