I'M In Love With A Girl That No Longer Exists Poem by Patrick Calleja

I'M In Love With A Girl That No Longer Exists

I'm in love with a girl that no longer exists
Her inexistant smile, sweetness - Innocence
Her inexistant presence, friendship - Love
What once used to be, is now all gone
Gone like the hurricane blew down their homes
Gone like the shooting star flew out of its solar system

A heart that once beat is now steady
Doctors have tried everything to get this heart to beat once more
However afer many failed attempts recovery seems unlikely
Is it logical to pull the plug?

The girl that I know died a long time ago
I am only left but with strong memories of her
Such memories which remind me of who she used to be
Am I to hold on to such memories or shall she come back to life?

I wonder if it's possible to bring a person back to life
Whether it is in my hands or not - I do not know
Maybe it's true some things are just meant to be left in the hands of God
However I just cant help but think I can do something to help

I wonder if it's too late
I wonder whether she'll recover
Althouth I sit here and worry
All I can do is have faith in His plan
