I'M Here In This Moment Poem by Riley Choma

I'M Here In This Moment

I’m here in this moment to be real

To show you that not every smile is a smile, a little while isn’t always so little, and tears aren’t always product of joy

I’m here in this moment to express the things my mouth couldn’t

To show you that it takes time to over come the things that pain us, and to show you that even though pain makes us stronger, it isn’t without scars.

I’m here in this moment because my blood veins were stronger than my fight.

Their words have imprinted on me to the point where somedays I blink and only see shades of red.

On most days the red is just blue, my walls are see through, and my insecurities are tattooed.

I’m here in this moment because I find relief in tiny white pills

Anxiousness was a product of the pain caused by one of my favorite things; words.

Truth be told everything has two sides.
