'I Love You, I Love You.' Poem by Michelle Dragonfly

'I Love You, I Love You.'

I stare at the sky.
At the clouds, the planes,
The things that whisper, taunt,
'I love you, I love you.'

'I think I loved you too.
Once, long ago.
But then I grew up
And you were never
There for me! '
I yell to the sky.

But still it murmurs
With the wind,
'I love you, I love you.'

Like a fool
I cry and beg and fight
Promising myself
I will never return
To the sky.

But always the fool, I run back,
Lying, 'I love you,
I love you,
I love you dearly.'
