I Love You Poem by K.J. Jackson

I Love You

Rating: 5.0

I Love You, but not in Love with you,
What a concept,
As I lay in our bed alone, while you slept,
And quietly tears shed, as I wept,
Turned on your side, remain completely inept,

Our life together was supposed to be great,
I thought we were best friends, true soul mates,
But that has changed, on this fateful date,
The emotion I feel, is a soul crushing weight,

We have a home and are married, with a son,
My hope for our future begins to come, undone,
I keep it inside, unable to tell anyone,
Resentment for you has already begun,

What did I do wrong? Can this be salvaged?
Or is this now irreparably damaged?
My love for you now impossible to manage,
Like a hemorrhaging wound, unable to bandage,

But If I try harder then you will see,
It isn't that difficult to fall back in love with me,
We can fulfill our life, extend our family,
Please, give us a chance, to just be,

I Love You, I Love You! That's how I feel,
This Love for you could not be more real,
But you're so distant now; it is hard to feel,
Except for the coldness, like frost hardened steel,

A bullet goes in, and spins in its chamber,
A sham of a life, will pose real danger,
As I pull back the pin, manifesting anger,
Your apathy pierces my heart like a dagger,

NOW IT IS OVER
