I'Ll Not Cry About Yesterday Poem by Carolyn Buck

I'Ll Not Cry About Yesterday

Yesterday was hard;
I'll not cry about then,
Yesterday's reward;
bad mem'ries of when,
if yesterday returned,
I'd not shed a tear,
it'd ruin all today's;
take 'way the good cheer
How I danced the night of I was shed
of the burden my shoulders
carried to long.
I cried, laughed, danced,
night I was rid
of the load I carried; I sang a song.
A song of happiness; freedom;
my heart lifted high,
familiar smile returned from
days gone by,
I was free, free that choose what
I wanted to do,
"freedom", what I'd beesn asking,
"at last" come true.
I'll not cry 'bout yesterday,
for yesterday's gone,
stead, sing of today;
my heart has a song,
pain of days gone by are far in my mind,
I'll forget them; forget them;
a matter of time.
Yesterday was hard;
I'll not cry 'bout them
Yesterday's reward;
bad mem'ries of when.
