I'Ll Just Sit Here Shall I? Poem by Steven Harris

I'Ll Just Sit Here Shall I?

Shall i just sit here then
dont you want to talk to me
nobody wants to talk to an old bum like me
even the barman doesnt want to know me
i keep shouting for anouther one
come on barman its only ten
just one more whisky.

I'll sit here in silence shall i
nobody wants to listen to my tales
'oi, you over there i want to ask you something'
'sit down there, dont worry about my hat'
yeah you just ignore me then
just like all of them do.

'I think its you went home' the barman said
home i cant go home
i dont want to go home
its cold and im all alone
i wont say anouther word
i'll just sit here
just let me sit here
i dont want anouther beer
ill die here instead
dont shed a tear for an old joke like me.
