I'll Hold You Close

Distant memories lost in time,
I close my eyes and think of you.
Memories of the way we were,
Glaze my eyes, like morning dew.

I hear your voice so clearly now,
A loving smile, lights up your face.
We walk together, hand in hand,
Then head for home, that special place.

I miss your love, I miss those times,
The love you shared, your love for me.
It broke my heart, you fell asleep,
No greater friend will ever be.

I'll hold your memory close to heart,
Your love will flow within my veins.
I'll hold you close, right to the end,
My dear Mum, we'll meet again.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments, regarding this poem!
So pleased to have made Poem of the day x I may have confused some!
Not sure what all the question marks are for? When I say that we will meet again,
I'm talking about a better place, in Heaven which I do believe there is such a place.
Nothing confusing really, I'm always open to any critiscism. Thanks again xx (Report) Reply

Such a beautifully written piece of a daughter's love for her Mom. Totally relate having lost my own mom ten ears ago. Miss our walks and talks, then heading home for tea for her and coffee for me! ! ! (Report) Reply
