I'Ll Always Be One Poem by Francis Duggan

I'Ll Always Be One

I'll always be one of the minority
To follow the leader could never be me
Unless with the leader on most things I agree
I could never be one of the majority
To not be one of the majority is of my own choice
But such a decision on it does have a price
Those of the minority as outsiders remain
And for their way of thinking stand little to gain
In the slaughter house yard there is a judas sheep
And for betraying it's comrades it earns it's keep
It leads them to their deaths up the slaughter ramp every day
And for saving the workers some sweat by sparing it's life in kind it they repay
When one thinks of the judas sheep our leaders do spring to mind
The one eyed one leads in the land of the blind.
