I Lit A Candle In Church Poem by Kevin Eaglesfield

I Lit A Candle In Church

Rating: 5.0

I lit a candle in church today;
A little fat tea light
With a little dumpy flame.
There were thirty one
Little fat flickering prayers
As well as mine,
And when I squinted,
Did they twinkle like
One of God's crown jewels?
I didn't need a prayer today.
I watched them bob
And wished everyone happy.
