I Like You When You'Re Gone Poem by Jessica Lindsey

I Like You When You'Re Gone

Morning,
my dreams disperse
watch your face drift
like smoke towards the ceiling,
gone.
The day pokes holes
into my thoughts, you
slip away through the cracks,
forgotten.
Yet, hovering
like a cloud keeping out
the sun, for which I'm grateful.
I can breathe.
