I Like It Here Can I Stay? Poem by Melissa Koeman

I Like It Here Can I Stay?

Never felt at home here in this hellhole
Called reality
It seems the stranger is always me
Looking down on the rest of the popular crowd
I feel left out
I pretend not too
It is all far too overwhelming
So I hide under my rock
Looking from a safe distance
To the “normal” people
God I hate that feeling!
So I always block out all the negative
I live my life in my imagination
Here no one hurts me
Here no one looks down on you
Here I am not judged
I like it here can I stay?
