I Lay On The Grass Poem by Tan Pratonix

I Lay On The Grass

I lay on the grass beneath a tree,
Beneath a shady tree,
I lay on the grass in the noonday sun
With blue skies over me,
I lay on the grass and the warm green fields
Swayed like the waves of the sea.

I lay on the grass and watched the clouds
Grazing in the sky like sheep,
I lay on the grass and listened to
The little birds that cheep,
I lay on the grass and the gentle breeze
Lulled me into sleep.

This is an innocent and open poem, quite simple which adds to its beauty.

I most liked the 'grazing in the sky like sheep' line.
