I know I broke your heart
With the words I spoke
I only wish I could have said
It was only a joke

I know I broke your heart
When you heard those words
The sun stopped shining
You no longer heard the birds

I know I broke your heart
When those words left my lips
I have to say I'm sorry
Because it's you I miss

I know I broke you heart
With the words I said
For having said them
I truly wish I were dead

I know I broke your heart
Truthfully I can say
You'll never hear those words again
That you heard today
