I Hope You'Re Right Poem by Amy

I Hope You'Re Right

Rating: 2.7

Long since this heart has beaten like this
I’ve grown to ignore it
for usually, it amounts to nothing
other than hurt and pain
on my part alone
the longing, the risk, the butterflies,
the time we spent together.
Usually ends in nothingness
why must this fragile heart
yearn for this feeling?
the consequences are fatal
You come along and promise
that it will be different
it will be alright
better than alright, that this is in fact
true love
I hope you’re right
I don’t know how much pain my heart can suffer
anymore
it’s fate rests in your hands
