I Have Failed You... Again. Poem by Violet Warren

I Have Failed You... Again.

either way
there's no replacing
the damage of a lifetime
of endless losses and suffering
tell your head to suffocate
your body in close to you
don't you think everything
as your mind grows old?

melt like wax across the floor
bend, break, cry

watch the bloody handprint of eternity
wipe across your stain glass security
render you speechless
the silence of a thousand words
bow before him on your feet

sweep away life in the dark
in the catacombs of this life
choir boy of the hidden
speak loud and clear
if you still don't believe me
then this is more than just a blind side
I have failed you again
and it's devouring me on the inside
