I Go On, Without You Poem by Amy Gaunt

I Go On, Without You

I go on
Without you
I carry myself
Like you carried me
I trust myself
Like you trusted me
And still, life moves
Without you

But I stumble
I fall sometimes
And I can still break down
Without you
I’m stronger
But I’m still not strong
I’m learning
But I’m still not wise
And while life moves
I’m moving too
I’m moving
Without you

You are my past
You’ll stay my past
And though you still
Sometimes come back
Only in a memory
Because in my reality
I go on
Without you

I like the sadness in this poem measured with growing strength. Simple but effective!
