I Give Up. Poem by Victor Matthews

I Give Up.

Rating: 4.7

I give up.

I have nothing of value.
And no one to keep me company.

I long for something,
anything, to give my life meaning.
But I push everything,
and everyone away,
without a second thought.
I don't even have myself.

I've had millions of chances,
to have happiness,
but I turned my back upon them.
And I'm oblivious as to why.
How pathetic is that?

I don't even understand myself,
and that's the worst part.

not to worry. the famous haiku poet basho said the same thing. in the end he just kept to him and did what he liked most, writing haikus. i think the same applied to emily dickinson. there are some of us who just dont like people. but they should spend more time doing what they like. find what you like to do and spend more time on it. there is no sin in dislking people. it is like some people disliking pigs.

Never give up. Have faith that someday, someone will be brought into your life that will change you. When that someone comes, your confidence will be restored and it will be the most precious moment of your life.

Oh Victor, how very sad that you would give up on the most precious one (YOU) . I think you really must get to know you, start with baby steps, oh and don't forget to talk to God about this. That's first and foremost, I hope you find (YOU) very soon. I like your poem........Melvina
