I Fell In Love Poem by Fides Alberta

I Fell In Love

I Fell In Love

Praise time, for what's blind has seen
It's past nearly unremembered
Windows to the soul ceased to dream
As a child's weeping hushed and mastered

Nights ended with melodies of pure bliss
Mornings awaken with birds' blithe warble
With a vow, a word swore to reminisce
We dared embrace our fate so shallow

Then the perfect tune was heaved to shame!
As I seek yours that sought another
To whom that promise was made to claim
Is to whom that love was taken forever

Pretending to have an armored troop
Is a mistake as to bear a painful stab
As painful as feeling the unfelt truth
It was only I who fell in love
