I Feel Poem by Shruti Goswami

I Feel

Rating: 5.0

I feel:
Like the dewdrops that melt at the touch
Of the first sunbeam;
The mercury of a thermometer, broken,
Dancing to and fro;
Like the globules traversing,
On a lotus leaf;
Like the taste of butter in a spoon.
Melting into the pink warmth of the tongue.

I find:
That dreams still float in the depths of my slumber;
The Sun, as new as it had been yesterday;
The roads deserted, an occasional bark of a dog;
Moonbeams, still dancing like a little girl;
On my windowsill.

I know:

Tomorrow is new, but I am today;
That time: it’s ticking away;
Hope floats, like the autumn cloud;
That love is eternal, denial abound;

I need:
The envelope, you are so afraid to show;
The heartbeats, for you to see and know;
The dreams that are tucked away so neatly
Inside the fiery mind;
To play hide and seek,
In the galaxies that wind;

You know:
It all comes to naught;
When I see you;
You are the one;
I sought, in the heat and dew;
I forget to move;
When your breath moves around;
My head reels like galaxies, kisses so intoxicating;
I forget what I lost and found;
I wish that time froze or vanished;
The fourth dimension never to be found.
It rains, when love is showered;
Like the dark grey clouds, released and empowered;
I want you, even to the point my heart repels;
When you are never there, even when you are not around.
