I Dream Poem by Kelly Persinger

I Dream

I dream of the holidays
Spending time with family
But I can't because we are
3000 miles apart.
I stand at the window
Doing my chores
And dream about my family
Praying they will come see us.
I stand there crying
I realize it won't happen.
I dream of my brother
Him holding me tight
And saying I love you.
I dream of grandma
And baking cookies
But I can't 'cause she's gone.
I dream of Aunt Anna,
Her dong my hair,
And staying up late playing yahtzee.
I dream of going home
everything will be the same,
As when I was younger
But it won't, and it can't be.
Maybe when I get older
I can go back to my home.

beautiful depiction love and affection in a family bondage, yet tear comes to eyes as when we stand apart from the kith and kin by the barrier of distance, yet it gleans tear to eyes by alienation of blissful love of family, lucid flow ingenious,10+, thanks for sharing
