I Don't Want To. Poem by Jim David Morris

I Don't Want To.

In a world where seeds bloom for blind reasons
For the destination is not yet chosen, alive with no freedoms
From his slumber he's been unspoken, vision distorted by thee omen
For he hears not what they say or he'll awaken, when he does he'll have spoken
With the might of his strength, bludgeon their bones broken
Through pain, there is no feeling of emotion, heart swollen
Born a vagabond in this frozen ocean alone
Never understood the reason why we remain in this food chain
Even though we are one people, we fight like barbarians on a campaign
We were born innocent growing up in the fast lane
To ponder thoughts, introduce fire to Jane
Born with a brain, shackled with a ball and chain
For one cannot think for themselves unless told otherwise from their reign
Drowning in a fountain gasping to get a breath of air, free from strain
Between my conscious, good and evil disturb thee insane
If they look at the bigger picture, they'll know my vain
In what seems to feel like a void, my pain remains in this domain, high on cocaine
I am not the type to complain for the man I became
For I knew not what a man was, I won't point blame
My final words will be written in lovers blood two minutes to midnight
Sadistic thoughts and intentions just to entertain
Blood dripping from my mouth trying to maintain
If I cannot attain control, I'll meet the bane of life unable to escape
Those who oppose, dismay my path I seek to run away
