I Don'T Want Diamond Rings Poem by Larisa Marie Davis

I Don'T Want Diamond Rings

Rating: 5.0

I know Im not worthy
not flirty
not your type
I know Im not pristine
I act mean
just to calm the hype
But if I had the chance
for romance
I know I could wipe
every smug look
condscending glance
with my chance
at romance
with the one who aims
to claim
me just as a friend
Im daydreaming again
Id rather pretend
these werent tears
but fears
at how things might end
Alicia says I aint got nothing
If I dont have you
and the Oracle says its true
Youre CHOSEN,
like Keanu, to be my boo
but popculture refrences
are only defenses
acting to make room
for someone new
Ill glady take reprieve from concentrating my life on you
I hate wasting time
It started when we were younger,
you were mine.
and it ends right now, Im older
I told her
itd never work with us
with that lack of trust
that you seem to posess
I regress
for all my ways, and my finangling
the ending to our story will leave you dangling...
