I Don'T Need Much Poem by Anand Brown

I Don'T Need Much

Rating: 5.0

Tossed with neutral hope out of a kind hand,
Towards an uncertain future.
I don't need much, not much at all,
A little sun,
A little rain,
A fertile bed.

My roots run deep,
Grab hold of soil.
My buds bud out in search of light.
Blind till now.
Full sighted, now wonder.

The clouds form pictures
And the sun smiles
And I am warmly welcome by the silence of nature.
My arms stretch out and make food so I eat.

All my needs are catered for!

A friendly breeze brings bumble bees, they visit me everyday.
My lungs are filled with sweet air.

All my needs are catered for!

I don't need much.
A little sun,
A little rain,
A fertile bed.

Look at me now.

I think this poem indicates that less is more. If many lived more minimalistic lives we all would be much happier. An important message for all mankind. Another inspirational poem. Well done, Anand.

I DON'T NEED MUCH is a declaration of independence, a moral declaration that frees you from bondage to this materialistic modern society with big business and advertising collaborating to make us think we DO need much. Your poem expresses the theme of independence so openly and whole heartedly that I am inspired; it has convinced me that this is achievable. I don't think I will ever have the purity of heart your speaker displays: ALL MY NEEDS ARE CATERED FOR + A LITTLE SUN, /A LITTLE RAIN, /A FERTILE BED = A wonderful life!
