I Don'T Need A Rock Poem by Katz Haus

I Don'T Need A Rock

I remember, as a child,
Walking on a chain link fence.
I'd start at the corner and
Tight-rope to the middle,
Where I'd stop;
I'd grasp a nearby slender branch
To help me balance.
Although that branch was flexible
And waved to and fro,
It helped keep me up on that fence.
I don't need a rock;
A slender branch
That waves to and fro
Will do;
But that branch has to BE THERE.
I don't need a rock;
I just need you
To be there
For me.
