I Don'T Miss You... Poem by Amber Swiney

I Don'T Miss You...

Rating: 5.0

When i look at my fingers, the spaces in between,
and think how your fingers used to fit perfectly there.

I don't miss you...

When I lay in bed and throw my leg over nothing more than a pillow.

I don't miss you...

On my birthday...when im blowing out the candles..and i look up and your not there...

I don't miss you...

And even on the holidays, as we sit and say grace, and i stare at the empty spot at the table
where you were before.

I still don't miss you...

When I close my eyes, and i see your face and hear your voice...

Not even then do i miss you...

But in all honesty,
I crave, desire, long, need, pine, wish, yearn for you always, but never do i just miss you...

I suppose this is just a curious use of the language but these are all the same. The point, I suppose, is to put emphasis on the aspects instead of the general. That is all well and good but it stretches the language and actually deceives the normal readers. Interesting, but skirting the edges of language. GW62
