I Don'T Like Cricket Poem by jer holland

I Don'T Like Cricket

I don't like cricket it's a bore I'll tell you that
I'd rather watch paint dry at the drop of a hat
It's slow and so laboured no fun for me
It's all about tactics as far as I can see
I went to a match a one dayer they said
Don't know why I bothered should have stayed in bed
They all looked so smart in their well pressed whites
But there's not much more to do than to enjoy the sights
They stopped for lunch and then stopped for tea
But they couldn't have been tired as far as I could see
As a fielder chatted with a fan
It questioned my attention span
Crickets good for something and this thought I will keep
I'll watch it on the telly to help me get to sleep
They've tried to make it funky and the night games do look good
But I don't want to get involved although perhaps I should
What if I really liked it and joined a team so I could play
With thoughts of hitting sixes for my country every day
But alas it will never happen I'll not bowl or even bat
As I said I don't like cricket it's a bore I told you that
