I do not want a lawn so plain. Once, less than a year ago, A vivid brown thrived in the rain.
I let the mud rise up, sustain All manner of creeping species low; I did not want a lawn so plain.
Perverted Eden helped me gain A love of life’s base ebb and flow, For vivid brown that thrives on rain.
The people passed and with disdain Said, “Lazy man, won’t weed or mow. We do not want a lawn so plain.
“The other neighbours aren’t a pain, How green and thick their grass does grow: A squalid brown thrives in that rain.”
I would not tap that normal vein, I sought to spoil myself, their row; I did not want a lawn so plain, But vivid brown that thrived in rain.
