I despair when I do not write
I come alive
When I write
Even when I do not write much
And know it is not much
Writing is who I am
And what I can do
I have written a lot in my life
And it may not amount to anything
But it has gotten me through
Many a rough day
And many blessed hours
Thank G-d for the writing
For my being alive now.
