I Cried Poem by Jessie Jett

I Cried

Rating: 5.0

It flowed like a river,
like water from the sky.
I sat there while it dripped,
as my skin dried.
I zoned out into darkness,
hiding from my fears;
trying to refrain from horrific nighmares.
And as I curled
up in my bed;
blocking out bad visions in my head-
it fell.

Like a rythmic beat,
rain on a tin can.
I can't help feeling the way I am.
My insides are dead,
gone without a whisper
and nothing to be said.

A lonely night,
a long night-
My life, this dream
is such a fright.
And all night long,
it flowed like a river,
water from the sky.
I sat there while it dripped,
I cried.
