I Came To This World Poem by Vera Sidhwa

I Came To This World

I Came to This World

I came to this world,
Calmly and innocently.
I came from another world.
I wanted to see this one.

This world was gorgeous,
In it's sunbathed beauty.
It's skies were clear,
And flowers grew in bounty.

But what is this I saw?
Man's war.
Blood hung on grass blades,
And bodies strewn all over.

I asked an Earth's citizen,
What that was.
And he answered,
That it was war.

Who made the war I asked.
He exclaimed that man did.
I then asked, who made nature.
He said God did.
