I Believe Poem by Caleb Jones

I Believe

What is a man

What is a heart

Do you live life to love

Or just love who you are

You try to live life by a book
That you say has never done you wrong

Just look at your book
His book
Her book

All pretty much the same

Some violence, a little lack of understanding

But love is the main thing

We kill
We steal
We hate

We reap just what we sow

Maybe what you book says don't matter

Take a good look at your soul

I believe in you
I believe in us
I believe in what I can see

I make my own decisions
I have my own opinions

I don’t need any deity

Because I believe in me

No matter what you are
Don't really mean a thing

We're all just human
We all have needs
We all want the same thing

Spend your whole life feeling bad because of living

Cuz of what might happen when you die

Why worry about that

Cuz either way you won't know till the other side

Just love your neighbor
Love your brother

And do what you know is right

When you pass someone in need

And you leave them there to bleed

Ask yourself why you let em die

I believe in you
Believe in us
Believe in what I can see

I make my own decisions,
I have my own opinions,

Don’t need any deity

I believe in me
