I Beg You To Stay Poem by JulietDanielle Everson

I Beg You To Stay

Rating: 4.5

I only feel weak, but your arms are strong around me
where you heart beats, is where I lay my head and sleep,
but when you are gone, I lie awake and weep.
My breath drowns when your lips brush mine.
Baby, come here and tell me one more lie.
Nothing is the same and we couldn't get it back if we tried,
but for just today, hold my heart and kiss me goodnight.
Promise me you will be here coming morning light.
I couldn't stand to see you walk away and I couldn't bear it if things were to change.
Maybe when my tears have dried, I will call you and tell you I am doing just fine.
The truth is like a knife piercing into all the parts I have tried to hide.
You stole my heart, I knew you were a thief from the start.
Now I am begging you not to walk away
I'll never be the same if your heart, I cannot attain.
Why are you making this so hard, so difficult to see?
Do you desire to leave or crave to be with me?
The silence of the phone is my answer to my unasked question.
Where did I go wrong, am I allowed to begin again?
Love me like you did when we hung the stars in the sky and you were not just a Summertime lullaby.
I was yours and you were mine.
Now you are the echo of my loneliness and the hardest Summertime goodbye.

Love is a spiritual experience that affects all and sundry with profound spiritual force. It is also whimsical and temperamental, coming unannounced and may leave without warning, even after careful nurturing by one of the couples. For the bliss of love to endure, it needs commitment from both parties. I like the articulation and penning of the poem. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
