I Am Trying

Wave, wave,
Wave at me,
The language that we speak,
When you leave,
Just stand at the edge and fall,
Let fate take you like I never let it take me,
Let the wave of night crease you,
Drift like a feather,
Will others follow?
If so I won’t be with them,
Forgive me, my negligence,
But I could never,
I was never daring or audacious,
Is that why we were never to be?
Could I cry and cry?
Would it bring you back?
Would the water wash you away?
Would you drown in my tears?
Can you swim at all?
Should I have gone that far?
Should I stop at the sign?
Is that what you want me to do?
I am trying to please,
But maybe I should just go,
Just flow with life and live...
Like you.
