I Am Torn Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

I Am Torn

Rating: 5.0

I am torn

Between love and the hate
Between pride and the shame
Between fame and defame
Between me, my people
From past, to today…

I am torn; I am torn; I am torn

As a child
Too little, too small
Unaware of elders

I followed, a parrot, chimpanzee

Then was moved
To cities, civilized
And they laughed
And called me with bad names

I was child; a parrot, chimpanzee

Years are gone
My past washed
Destroyed as ugly,
We were called: “out of time”

But the time has rebuilt
Sells it back to myself
Once again am target

I recall how we walked
As if pond and a cat in water
With hot feet would get cold

Now, modern
I buy it for sauna; Jacuzzi

I am torn; I am torn; I am torn

Between love
And you know…

How the life of a man is torn between various parameters and forces of nature, can be seen in this scathing indictment. Thanks.
