I Am From Me Poem by katie norton

I Am From Me

I am from me
From the boat on weekends
And Saturday night poker games
From thousands of journals
Where I pour my heart out
I am from drama filled hallways
Boys and silly games
From swings at Curtis park
Where I soar through the sky
I am from sunburn and sore smiles
I am from the depths of books
Like twilight
From all the words I know
So the the lion fell in love with the lamb.
That’s where im from
I am from the arms of my best friend
And the love of my parents
From the smell of freshly cut grass
And the slight fizz of a can of coke
I am from the nerds and the smartalics
I am from dark poetry
Where I wear my heart on my sleeves
I am from love songs
And the lyrics that should be carved on my heart
I am from the lectures I should have received before I did it
I am from slightly melted ice cream cones
And the juice of ice pops
I am from ice cold lemonade
Sugar cubes and ballet shoes
From hip hop and jazz
From angelas acadamy of dance
Where my life is pretty much spent
From the soccer fields
And giant bear hugs
I am from this moment
Where my life shines
