I Am Poem by mary simonson

I Am

I am an immigrant from Canada going to the United States.

I am an immigrant from Canada
I wonder how the economy is in the United States
I hear the dogs loud bark
I see gaurds chasing me
I am an immmigrant who wont give up
I pretend not to be scared or woorry
I feel like I wont make it
I touch the water from the river
I worry I will be caught and sent back
I cry cause I feel I will never see the United STates
I am an immigrant who still hasn't given up
I understand that being an immigrant, is hard work
I say almost there
I dream of having a family in the UNited States
I try and try not to give up, and I wont
I hope I will live better here
I am an immigrant who never gave up

by the way it was a class assiment
