I Ain'T No Quitter Poem by Singleton M. Tate

I Ain'T No Quitter

You ambush me with voices of variance
Telling all who will listen about my shortcomings
How I am such a loser and I will never amount to anything
Well that is only in your heart...

Trying to turn the whole world against me
Stabbing my soul... Draining the Golden Light of Purpose
Not only do you seek to Kill my Character... but my Will
I trust in nothing that you have given... as it was in deceit

A Pretense of Vulgar Lies... Scorch your tongue
As the Coals of Hell rule your... Words to defile
Shout it to the Mountains speak of my... Wilderness abode
Tell the King and his court... Let them scourge me

I weary my eyes as I... Stumble within this Life
Ladened with humanity's striving against me for sudden evil
Listen People... I am not loved... Here in this world
Against all Odds... I reveal the... Tale of a Spirit Unsung

I Ain't No Quitter... I will never be undone...
As the Victory
Shall be Won...
By This
Enlightened Vagabond...

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Taken from the book: 'Open-Ended Artistic Creativity'

You haven't seen the end of me...

I may be the lowest of the low... The One who finds me won't have far to go, to strip me of all that is wrong... then make me a 'Joint Heir' upon 'Victory's Throne' T.G.

He who finds me may think me worthwhile and then smile... to have...
A rare 'Diamond in the Ruff' T.G.
