Hymn To The Ocean Poem by Morhardt Carmen Mencita Monoi Angel

Hymn To The Ocean

Hymn to the ocean

As far as eyes can see
Lying ahead till blue horizon
Never resting water of the sea

Seagulls hushing through the air
Splashing into water like a spear
Catching swimming fish in pairs

Huge waves in never ending motion
Roaring and foaming sounds
As if in praying devotion

Frightening deep depths
Coral’s sharp edges
Ships ending as wrecks

Many forbidden passions
Laid on inviting shorelines
Washing over emotions

Splendors of the pacific
Forces of the Atlantic
Full of boasting energy

Underworld’s population
Enchanted temptations
Mermaids whisper their
Love hymn to the ocean

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I like the last sentences which are strong 'Underworld’s population/ Enchanted temptations Mermaids whisper their / Love hymn to the ocean' The imagery is well planned and well penned. I enjoyed it dear Mencita. It deserves a 10-. Joseph Josephides Member of the International Society of Poets (ISP) Intern.Library of Poetry awarded
