Hunger Poem by Arti Honrao

Hunger

She needed money to feed her child,
He needed a woman to satisfy his emotions wild,
They came together in union not meant to be,
He would go his own way and so would she,
The hungry man would be satiated,
And the hungry child would be fed.

This bitter truth is hard to swallow. A mother cannot sell herself just to feed her child. Such a country will perish one day.

I like the rawness and no non-sense style of this poem. Reality potryaed in a very real sense. Look forward to reading more from you :) Preeti
