Hummingbird Poem by Rudi J.P. Lejaeghere

Hummingbird

In a haze of hummingbird
on the flowers landed
there are wings of rainbow
and a beak of nectar

full as a kiss
it tastes like colours
folding gravity

none who’s expecting honey
or the seed
and still

and still

the earth is written
with the flight of the shadow
the dew, the drop of water

in the nibs and the bill of the bird
the clearing of the pistil
to give and take

to fly in the sky
